Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone out there has managed to find a vacuum cleaners that's easy to push. I currently have an Orek XL, which although is light in body weight, is very hard to push. I have pets, so the suction needs to be good. I was looking at the new Dyson cordless, but apparently you have to hold down the on switch whilst in use, so not ideal for those of us challenged in the fingers/hand department!

Thanks in advance.

Liz.

We have a black labrador who seems to shed half his body weight in hair each day, and a Dyson upright. It is very easy to push and has powerful suction. The problem is that it is quite heavy, so carrying it up/down stairs is a bit of a problem. The suction tube expands so much that you can do practically the whole stairs from the bottom up. We actually have a cylinder Dyson too - lighter and less suction but easier to take upstairs.

Hi Liz,

I have a Sebo 'pets' cylinder vacuum. Not difficult to use, great suction, quite light and does a good job.

Hope that help

Hi
just bought an air ram , not sure what the make is but it's advertised on TV and I got it cheaper in argos. brilliant ! no cord , very light and does the job. there'sno bag so you have to empty it a lot but a 10 second job. best one I've ever had. can't believe I am so excited by a vac. it's all rock and roll!

I totally agree with Julie! The air ram is made by Gtech. I cannot handle my Dyson anymore but the air ram is so light to lift that it is actually a pleasure to use. The fact that it is cordless prevents me from tying myself in knots with the wire and it goes under furniture much better than an ordinary vaccuum cleaner. It has an ergonomically shaped handle which is much less painful on hands and wrists too. Fantastic machine.

I don't know if anyone else finds this, but RA has made me brain dead. I posted this question then promptly forgot about it! I suddenly remembered today and was very excited to see 4 replies!
Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. I am now spoilt for choice.
I can understand being excited over a vacuum cleaner. I will be very excited when I can find one I can use. It's always the little victories that count :)

Hi Liz
If you go to the "other discussions" forum under "looking back" and the "drugs" forum under "and now the memory is going" you will find you are not alone with the brain problem!!!

Keep smiling!
